Mr Seitaro Sato opened his forest for citizens and children by naming the place as Health Forest for more than 20 years. Currently, more than 5,000 nursery and kindergarten children visit the place annually. However, the maintenance cost of the forest has been born by the owner, and there is no guarantee that the current system can be maintained in the future. Accordingly, future strategy is discussed and questionnaire survey is planned for forest nursery graduates and their parents to find out outdoor nurseries impact on children’ development and wellbeing.
