Sophia Forest (Karuizawa town, Nagano Pref.)

  WOWtrail system, where plant guides and visitors’ articles on their WOW!s (wonders,

discoveries, etc.) can be accessed by smart phones through QR codes, is under

development for enhancing recreational and educational services. Field walking

experiments are conducted to obtain data on participants’ opinion of the IT-based guides,

satisfaction levels and other remarks.
